With fall in full swing and the colder weather fast approaching; I decided to try making "Fire Cider" for the first time. Apparently, from many different postings I've seen, many people use it to build up immunity against colds and the flu.
You can pretty much add whatever your favorite ingredients are and this is what I had on hand:
Oranges, limes, lemons, ginger, red onions, jalapeno peppers, radish, cilantro, parsley, and garlic. I added fresh sage and rosemary, along with celery seed, turmeric and of course black pepper corns.
Everything was packed into a large jar, and I added the spices and herbs.
Lastly, I filled the jar to the top with Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother. It will infuse on the counter for a month before I drain out the fruit and veggies.
I've been stirring the mixture every other day and it is looking really good after just one week. It will be a home #remedy to help during the winter months to aid us in staying healthy. Do any of you have any experience making and using fire cider? I would love to hear about your results.
