I posted the other day about how i made my own paints from shells and stones from sacred sites. I had previously ground down the materials to as close as powder as I could with a morter and pestle and then sieved them @ultravioletmag/making-my-own-paint.
Last night I added mixing medium and a little water to the powder to make the paints.
I found i had to go on quite thick otherwise they had a see through edge. Here are some of the results, excuse the bad photos it was night time so I had to try my best and capture it quickly before bed, I even had to use the flash in some places.
I was so impressed with the whites from the shells as they have a pearly 3d texture and then the little greyish stone even has blue sheens. Ill take some more photos when they are dry :)
