I tried to make sourdough bread but life was crazy hectic at the time so I used to cheat and add a little instant yeast. Now that life's more slow, I will give it a go again.
I think Daisy would be quite proud of herself that the bread rose so nicely despite it being 100% wholemeal flour.
My mom always taught me to use equal parts of wholemeal and white flour otherwise it comes out too dense. I've often only used a quarter wholemeal flour when it's running low.

Good luck for next time but I must say your loaf looks very good for a first attempt. And I'm sure it tasted good especially when still warm!
