gm food lovers from all corners of the planet!
but a special gm if you looooooove sea food like me. Today, I had a lunch meeting with a client and decided I needed something light in my tummy. I politely suggested we meet in a Peruvian restaurant called Lima, located in the heart of 4 Grados Norte neighborhood in Guatemala City.
We met there for a light lunch and a chat; this is what we had.
First up, three causas
The name comes from the Incan Quechua word kausaq, which translates to "giver of life"
This is a sort of cold, layered potato casserole, or maybe a potato salad.
Potatoes are very common in Peruvian cuisine. As a matter of fact, there are more than 3,000 different types of potato grown in Perú! how about that???
The first causa one on the left is topped with avocado and octopus in olive cream, the second one is fried shrimp and on the far right, tuna with soy sauce and pepper.
Next, we had Tricolor fish Tiradito
The fish sashimi is sole filet. It's of course served raw and covered with three different sauces:
- Ají cream (the yellow one on the left)
- lime juice with culantro
- A cream made from rocoto peppers
Our sides are: on the left, three slices of sweet potato and on the right is Peruvian corn known as choclo.
Business is always better on a full belly, and bellies are always best filled with delicious food from the ocean! This delicious lunch was light and didn't disappoint.
mmmm mmmmm!
bon apetit!
