Today was one of those days when I just had to bake cookies and enjoy the cool weather. I finally got a call from the contractor letting me know he’s coming to start the work on my home next week. This will entail new lighting in the kitchen, new flooring in my master bathroom and walk in closet as well as a new shower, bathtub, vanity and bidet toilet as well. I feel relieved that this nightmare is almost over!
As I told you in my last posts, I am still rotating my pantry items including food stored in all my freezers. Today I pulled out some Cornish hens and I prepared them to be broiled with wine, unsalted butter, thyme, garlic and my seasoned salt I make.
While they roasted in the broiler I dusted and cleaned my home and put away the remaining Christmas decor.
We keep our home really clean, my family is very good at maintaining our space tidy. I raised them well lol
I put some things in the kitchen knowing I’m going to have to put them away again when the repairs commence but I just wanted my kitchen to look lived in for the holidays.
There is nothing in the cabinets. Everything still remains in boxes from when the demolition was done throughout my house. I only decorated the counters and the open shelves.
My OCD needed a sense of normalcy I guess.
When the Cornish hens were finished broiling I prepared a gravy from the strained drippings and serve them with baked potatoes and salad.
And everybody finished everything on their plates!
My day was slow but I managed to get a lot done including my second visit this month to the Medi-spa for some pampering. I can’t believe this year is almost over, can you? What did you do today?
May your home be filled with warmth, your pantry full and may you always have good health!
