Hello friends,
Today for lunch I decided to try this easy recipe I got from my friend. I’ve seen different variations of this recipe but never liked the idea of adding mayo to the batter. So when I found out that it’s possible to omit it or replace with yogurt, I think this is my chance to try this recipe.
Ingredients:
Batter
- Flour - 1 cup
- Yogurt or buttermilk - 1 cup
- Eggs - 2
- Salt - 0.5 tsp
- Baking soda - 1 tsp
Stuffing
- Ground beef (or any minced meat) - 300 g
- Onion - 1
Season with salt, pepper, ground cumin, and smoked paprika
Preparation:
In yogurt add baking soda and leave for 5 minutes. Then add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Pour half of the dough into a greased and flour-sprinkled baking pan.
Put the ground beef mixed with onions, seasoning and pour the second half of the batter on it. Bake at 340F/170ºC, for about 40 minutes.
The dough in the pie is very soft, I’m not sure if I like it but my family members finished it pretty fast. I served the pie right away after it was done. Kids were so hungry after their school that I didn’t get any chance to take a photo on the plate:-), I guess that’s the best compliment I can get.
So here are two last pieces left on the baking pan. Next time I’ll have to double the recipe:-)
I hope you enjoyed the recipe.
