This food shop is situated at a passable route of public utility vehicles going to the New Government Center of Bacolod from the downtown area, and to Villamonte from the landmark. Thereby, it has been a wonder to me as I stood there in the front of this restaurant. How come I never notice this here before? I've just been passing by here all along for months, but not ever did I notice this even in my peripheral view. Anyway, this was suggested by a friend when we dropped by at the New Government Center for a quick errand.
I was surveying the facade in awe, kinda classic and elegant from the outside so I'm guessing that it's expensive here. It was a treat from a friend, so I shouldn't have to worry according to him. He might received his pay slip, that's why but I'm thankful, though.
There were few tables with a long couch as you enter the place. The waiter might have sensed my dismay when he saw me looking around for something I couldn't even figured out for myself. He recommended spaces for us inside and pointed out the way. Then, gave us the menu when we had settled ourselves.
The spaces were Japanese inspired wherein you can sit on the floor, and there were curtain each, so groups and individuals can enjoy their privacy while having their meals and discussions. They have spaces for groups, partners, and solos. There's even on the top which I thought was just part of the design but it was also a space to dine. This place is like a working space cafe style like, wherein you are required to pay or purchase in a minimum amount per hour for your stay and use of internet. I have also seen plenty of students here working on their laptops and some were interns in this place.
Since I wanted a brunch 'cause I went straight to school without having anything and just had the chance to got out on lunch time, for my starving stomach, I went for their All Day Brunch. This goes with a sausage, bacons, salad, breads, and scrambled eggs. I don't like eating salad 'cause I couldn't swallow it along with the cucumbers and melons, therefore, I gave it to my friend. I transferred it to his plate without asking him and not giving him a chance to complain.
This is what he ordered, the Herbed Pork Chop. It is a seasoned pork with tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, olives, and rice. His dish was simpler than mine, but I added my salad to his plate to look fancier with a grin on my face while he just looked at me a little amused.
Since I was that starving, he also ordered this Shrimp Salad nicely plated with the bed of lettuce, rows of corn, tomatoes, black olives, boiled eggs, and apples. We also both had Strawberry Smoothie. They have Kiwi and Grapefruit Smoothie but my intuition said they weren't up for my taste at the time even though I can eat them in a whole fruit.
Surely with this feast, I had satisfied my stomach good enough until the afternoon activities. However, if you ask me if I finished those for my stomach only have a small capacity, NO, I didn't and I have to wrapped the untouched Shrimp Salad for take-outs. I'm already full with the brunch I had and the large serving of their smoothie.
And as I've said earlier, I'm expecting that this restaurant is a bit expensive just by looking from its facade when I was outside. Well, I was right since our bill was around Php 1400 or $25. I was stunned with the price for a second. I wouldn't pay that much in food if I'm alone even if I have the money, but for coffee? I guess, yes, depending on the variety and how fancy it is. Yet, my friend here has unstinted generosity limited only for this very day, that's why I have kept my silence instead and turned a blind eye while he paid the bill and tipped the intern. According to him, what matters most was that we're full before going busy again with the school activities and we could do our tasks until the evening without fainting from hunger. Just what had almost happened to me earlier that morning from not having anything before working.
Anyways, I haven't savored their food well because I was that hungry so I can't really tell if they were good. Well, I think they're good since I have even finished that brunch, but I hope it made you crave, just kidding. Thanks for reading my blog. Have a great day!
