If they have French Fries, I have here Pinoy Fries.
We call it in our vernacular, kamote or sweet potato. It is a root crop famous in the Philippines.
There are several ways I know on how to cook kamote.
- Nilaga or Nilabon - it is to boil kamote in water, no anything
- Kamote cue - it is peeled and cut in irregular solid shape and deep fried in hot oil. When it is about to cook a brown sugar is added to coat each pieces and put in a stick.
- Ginataang Bilo-bilo - kamote is just one of the many ingedients. It is cut in bite size cube and cook together with other ingredients.
- Pinoy Fries or kamote fries - the name is just my invention. It is cut into sticks, same with french fries. Then deep fry it until it is cooked.
