CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST IS FUN AND DELICIOUS
We usually end up doing a Christmas breakfast for the kids at least a couple of times throughout the holiday two weeks prior today the grand finale – usually the first weekend of December to try out things and then again on Christmas Eve morning when we all are present.
The pancake tastings are a must hahah and we always have eggs in every way baked possible.
The studying older ones are grateful for extended breakfasts because normally that’s coffee on the go and that’s it. Or a tosti with ham and cheese, and they have to make the breakfast themselves. Not today! The dogs get treats aswell and even one of them is born on the second day of Christmas.
But that blog will be on tomorrow.
There is always so much fun that we can put together and something that the whole family can do. So I let the kids decide and I even let the kids join in and decorate their own food, we will see they are still asleep.
We always have KERST BROOD MET SPIJS
that’s something we all love. It’s bread with raisins and almond center. And you eat it with butter. A thick layer of butter.
I make cinnamon rolls and I do croissants 🥐 that’s it. We drink tea with milk and hubby drinks coffee. We all sit and plan the day of doing nothing and that’s fun. The board games will be out today and we will for sure watch a Christmas movie. Being together is all we need. And we only go outside to walk the dogs that’s it.
While I am writing this blog downstairs in a whole quiet house I think back to last night when we went to bed at 2 am still accompanied with the two oldest ones. They weren’t tired we the creators of these two were for sure. They went to their rooms and we were looking at eachother and think king the same, reminiscing and watching them be BIG. Both planting their feet in the adult world, falling in love and experiencing new things. College and dorm life in Covid times. Boy how life made a 180 for the new adults also. And boy how they cope well. We made beautiful souls and we raised some darn good human beings, proud dad did a box with the tallest and hugs his girl like she was 6 again. I blew a kiss from the other side and messed up both their hair while patting them in the head. I know they hate that the fun, and all this in the middle of the night. I watched in the other room how our two youngest sleep and smile, THIS IS THE LIFE GUYS , this is what I was made for and life is good , and yes even with Covid!!!!!
I also baked a sugar cake for the lunch !
This blessed mamma is going to set the Christmas table with the Christmas drawings again and will I will continue to muse while I once again light the Christmas candles and turn up the radio with the special songs, although Maria C can go to retirement. And please be grateful for every little thing you have, there is always someone who has it worse than we do. stay safe stay blessed, if you can go yo church have a great mass and smile.
6 Days to New Years Eve, today we will watch the speech our king holds, later on I will add a picture of this event for us Dutch.
