Hi Foodies
A couple of days ago my parents were visiting my Aunt and Uncle up in an area of Scotland known as Lochearnhead.
On the drive home, my father stopped in the market town of Crieff to pick up some Sirloin steaks from a renowned butcher.
I saw this "Montreal Rub" seasoning which I was curious to try , while out shopping I also found some nice roast vegetable seasoning and peppercorn sauce.
To accompany the steak I made some red rooster mashed potatoes with garlic and spring onion.
I was curious to see what kind of flavor this fancy 13-month matured West Country cheddar would add to the mashed potatoes.
The resulting cheesy mash was probably my favorite part of the whole meal :).
Alongside the mash we have some roast potatoes, carrots, and onion seasoned with our roast veg seasoning.
A good steak also needs some peppercorn sauce of course.
This is the end result, probably the nicest plate of food I have ever created.I chopped some spring onions and pickles over the steak and added a hearty serving of garlic and herb dipping sauce.
Of course, a good Sirloin steak needs a good red wine to go with it, I couldnt decide between the Cabernet Sauvignon or the Rioja so I picked up a bottle of both.
