A new place to eat 🍽
A few weeks back my dad told me about a new restaurant in Charleston that I needed to go try. It was called Gourmet Fast and located on 709 Ruffner Ave. It took me awhile, but today 
Around 11 or 12 today we took a very short drive over to Gourmet Fast and sat out front parked by the curb while we looked at their menu online to figure out our order. There is no dine-in at this place, so ordering through phone call before you arrive is your best bet. Even though we didn’t do that, it only took about 15 minutes to receive our order.
The food 🥘
There were many options which made selecting what food we each were going to eat pretty difficult. After a few minutes we determined what we were getting and I walked inside to place the order. I was greeted by two friendly staff members who seemed to be very comfortable in the kitchen. I ordered two entrees, each came with two sides and a drink.
My Order
Oxtails - These big meaty pieces are still on the bone. The flavor was absolutely delicious and super juicy. It was on a bed of rice and kind of reminded me of something I would get at an Indian restaurant. I can highly recommend this entree, it will leave your taste buds very happy.
Cabbage and Carrots - I’m a huge fan of cabbage, as long as it’s flavored properly. I can verify that this for sure is a great recipe. Mixed with some thinly sliced carrots, it’s a great addition to any of the entrees.
Garlic and Parmesan Mashed Potatoes - Mashed potatoes are best when there are chunks of potatoes instead of it being ultra creamy. Thankfully these had chunks and tasted magnificent, no lack of flavor here.

Lemon Chicken - ”Yummy, it made my taste buds tingle.” That’s all I could get out of
Sweet Mac and Cheese - When I went inside I wasn’t sure how many sides we would get and I was surprised to find out that we got two.
Drinks 🥤
The fairly priced meals also included a drink each.

If you’re local to Charleston, go try this place out ASAP. Gourmet Fast is open from 11am-8pm Monday-Saturday. So that means any day but Sunday you can place an order here. Some days they will have a special that isn’t on the menu and often times they may be out of certain items. I have a good feeling that everything on the menu is delicious, so don’t worry if the thing you have your eye on is out of stock the day that you visit. I’m looking forward to trying more in the future, I’ll be sure to get a dessert next time for sure.
