My mother is a fantastic chef. She is a true family lady who cares for everyone in the household. I adore her cook and look forward to every meal. I occasionally attempt to cook, but I don't think I'm cut out for cooking for the entire family (Sure I can cook for myself) LOL. Because my father is a true "connoisseur of fine cuisine" 😄, and sadly, he isn't fond of my cooking skill. (At least my mom always encourages me to cook haha)
Vietnamese caramelized braised pork isn't difficult to prepare if you know what you're doing. When I first made it, it wasn't easy. Before I could confidently laid it out on the table, I had had to lose it to several trials.
Slow-cooked pork that is incredibly tender and tasty, Both the egg and pork absorbs all of the spices, creating a flavorful, salty, and somewhat sweet taste, with fish sauce and sugar as the primary seasonings.
As far as I recall, much earlier on, only affluent families could afford to eat it. I heard it was only traditionally served around the Lunar New Year. Even though It's now a delightful part of every Vietnamese family's dinner table, to me, this braised dish still feels like a sumptuous one to enjoy. Especially when it comes to a family supper, which has become rather unusual in today's fast-paced world. A family get-together is a true gift from God. I am thankful for mom's cook. I am thankful I can now prepare a dish for the whole family.
I'll share the recipe right below/
The primary ingredients are fish sauce, sugar. You can replace coconut for water (But coconut makes the pork more flavourful)
Okay, easy step 😃 Marinate the meat for 30 minutes
Make a note of the dot's colour. This is a crucial step since it determines the overall appearance of the meal.
simmer and put the eggs in
Coconut water (or add some more milk if you like). It's okay to use water too.
Tadaaaaaaa! Done. So smelly and delicious !
