Too busy tonight, a lot of work and chores added it up, and I was so hungry in the end that I couldn't see straight.
So I turn to our traditional, here in Greece, street food : souvlaki!
Souvlaki is small pieces of meat (usually pork, but it can be chicken, beef or lamb) grilled on a skewer. You can either eat it plain (just the skewered meat) or inside a rolled pita or hotdog bread, with tomato, onion -lots of onion-, fried potatoes, some parsley for the taste and either a mix of ketchup-mustard or yoghurt.
Personally, I like yoghurt -the more, the merrier- and add it up on top of the fried potatoes.
You can either eat it at the stall or at "souvlatzidiko" (as we, Greeks, call the place that makes souvlaki), standing or served at a table, but also you can take it home or ask for a delivery.
Souvlaki should be eaten while it is still hot (or warm) and that's why they usually wrap it in aluminium foil to keep it warm
As you can see I took mine at home, one for me, and one for my partner. I had the one with lots of yoghurt, he had the souuvlaki in hotdog bread (with no potatoes, cause he doesn't like fried potatoes... Crazy, isn't it).
Now my stomach is full and I am bursting from happiness... But also I might need a soda beverage to digest...
