Hey Hive family! I hope you all are doing amazing & staying safe!
In this situation of pandemic, low mood & mood swings are pretty common issue and one thing absolutely can cheer me up is FOOD✌️ Yes, I love food over anything else.
When you are down, try these chaats instead of chatting with others😋
Chaats are the mixture of different items where you get balanced taste of spice, sweetness, sour and fun!
I love eating my chaats over street side carts as the unbeatable taste and their expertise make it amazing. But,now we all are at pandemic time & safety and hygeine is very important, hence you can enjoy some readymade or homemade versions of these binge watching your favourite shows.
Some of my favourite chaats in the list are:
PANI PURI
Literally translates to PANI means Water and PURI means crispy round fritter. This is one classic chaat where you first make a small hole in the crisp round fritter and pour flavoured spiced water along with mashed potato spice mix in it. Gulp the entire puri in mouth bursting it and exploding all over mouth with fun having all spices & flavours. I can eat this countless as the flavour water loaded puri bursting in mouth is super fun✌️
DAHI PURI
DAHI translates to Curd. This chaat is similar varity of above wherein the flavoured water is replaced by the curd and spice sprinkle.
A hole is cracked in round fritters, filled with the masala, adding curd and spices with some lots of sev and savoured immediately. Curd bomb exploding inside mouth will be super duper fun here.
SEV PURI
This is another variant where the flavoured water or curd is not added as a mix, instead the mashed potato and green peas based masala serves the purpose by itself.
Round fritters are cracked and loaded with lots of spiced masala mixture, sev, sweet sause, sour sauce, chopped onions, tomatoes and served! Few people like it to be very spicier side.
RAGDA PATIS
So this is very unique chaat, where just the mashed potato spiced cutlets are used as base instead of puris and then the masala, sev, onions, cilantro are topped.
Tasted tangy, sweet, sour and spicy!
MASALA PURI
As the name suggests, flattened puris/fritters are topped with green peas based spicy green masala mix and then the add-ons are added on top like sev, onions, cilantro for garnish.
BASKET CHAAT
This chaat is mostly a available widely in the streets of Bangalore, where the basket kinda fritters are topped with puffed rice, sev, curd, carrot shreds, tamarind sauce, mint sauce, masala spices and enjoyed in the evenings!
Over the years and across the different regions, chats have got different fusions may be with cheese add ons, corn chats, fancy fire sev puris etc. It's totally fun & amazing to have these in the evenings.
What's your favourite chhat and have you ever tried any of these above?
Hope you all enjoyed the short read on chaats and try these.
