Happy greetings, this time I will make Gemblong cake a traditional snack. Gemblong cakes are traditional market snack and snack for generation.
Gemblong is a legendary snack, especially in West Java, gemblong is weel known in the Sunda area with a sweet and savory taste.
Gemblong is round or oval which is smeared with liquid sugar red in often in traditional market and we often encounter it on the hip and traded in crowds.
To make a simple gemblong cakes,the ingredient used for the skin consist of,
- 200 grams of white glutinous rice flour
- 100 grams of coarsely grated young coconut.
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- 500 ml of oil for frying.
As for the coating ingredient for the gemblong cake,such as - 100 grams of granulated sugar
- 100 grams of brown sugar on the comb
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 150 ml of water.
The process of making gemblong,
Step 1 mix glutinous rice flour and grated coconut,then stir add water gradually,stir again so that it become a dough.
Step 2 knead the dough then take according to taste and form a round until the dough run out.
Step 3 after the round shape then prepare the teflon heat the oil then the round dough is fried,until it is light brown,remove and set a side.
Step 4 make a layer of gemblong,slice the brown sugar add it to the pan with the sugar,add water while stirring,
Step 5 then enter the fried gemblong,stir until the sugar liquid sticks to all sides gemblong,then removed and ready to be served.
