It was 10pm at night. The kids were sleeping. Husband came home and asked whether was I up to it for a late dinner because he had not had his dinner. I was a little hungry too, the instant rice vermicelli I ate earlier had all digested. So, without hesitation, let's!
Ammayas Curry House
Recently, husband discovered this curry house by the roadside, in the middle of housing area called Ammayas Curry House Restaurant. He tried before and he loved the fish curry there. It opens 24 hours every day too! Wow!
Ambience
It was a super open concept restaurant with zinc roof, hence during lunch time, the dining experience would be like at sauna, while at night, dining experience was windy like at the beach.😂
We went at night, so it was a super good experience. The ventilation is great too! And it has television for customers, of course showing Hindu movie.
It had several section, one is all mamak stir fry, one section of vegetarian, one section of 'nasi kandar', one section of naan and chicken tandoori, one section for 'roti canai' and one section for Thai stir fry. I love the varieties of food served here.
The food we ordered
Husband was craving for curry so his portion of rice was fully ladled with curry, mostly the fish curry and true enough, it was super delicious. The chicken curry was well-cooked too. Not the mentioned the liver and gizzard cooked in spices were soft and nice to chew. Husband only ate rice once a week, and for his rice meal, he preferred to eat with bombastic curry. Ammayas curry house is one of his favourite now.
I ordered from the Thai stir fry section. I had a 'crush' with chicken fried in turmeric (besides nasi lemak Bungkus) since college time, hence whenever I went to new restaurant, I must try it. This one was a little bit below the par because the fried chicken was a bit hard to my liking and also abit too salty. But overall, I was alright with the food. I also ordered a deep fried omelette with onions. Very satisfying supper and I vowed the eat clean food the next day.
Husband also ordered their vadeh as well as a sweet snack filled with dessicated coconut brown sugar. Very surprisingly yummy!
For drinks, I ordered a warm ginger milk tea and husband ordered a warm milk tea.
Menu
Since I took photos of some pages of their menu, let me show here. These are just few of the many pages in the menu.
Soon, I want to come again to try their other food and especially their packed nasi lemak which looks so cute to me.
We enjoyed our food a lot, and of course hours of chatting and catching up. The tea also in a way caused us to be awake and we were there till about 1am. It was a rare moment when we got to chat our hearts out without interruption, moments like this is essential in marriage.
