The damascus rose, is from 5000 years is the queen of all roses, a source of inspiration for poets, painters and writers, with noble and ancient origins, with beneficial properties and healing qualities.
With its fragrant aroma, it is an important ingredient for many dishes or drinks, such as rose water, very used on balkans and eurasian countries. Even today, in the Middle East, Turkey and India, sweets such as raha or lokum (Turkish delight), creams and milk and rice puddings are flavored with Damask rose water, while in Morocco and North Africa it is one of the ingredients of the spice mixture known as “Ras el Hanout”.
Rich in omega 3 and vitamin A and C, is a precious food for the body.
Personally i love this "spice" expecially for prepare rose tea, and to garnish pistachio turkish delight.
