Often without us noticing, if we let other people take the lead, they bring us to quiet, cozy places that surprise us! Well, that was the case for me when my new yoga friends decided to take us, city dwellers, to a secluded cafe shop up the mountains! To be honest, expectations were non-existent as this wasn't included in our itinerary that day but I was open to anything as I wanted to let things unfold by themselves.
One of these quaint cozy places is the A's Dental Clinic, Cafe + Carwash! By the name itself, how can I say this is a quaint cozy place? Let me show you...
Located at Pondol, and Balamban Cebu, it's a 5-minute drive from the main highway. The road is a bit rough and going there might put you in doubt if a cafe exists there since there aren't quite a lot of establishments around. However, when the lights from the small store were seen from the corner we turned, I immediately smiled.
It was like this small cabin deep in the woods but this time it's a cafe amidst the trees and nature. . .
The atmosphere itself was relaxing after an intensive yoga session that day! The warm yellow lights inside were already inviting enough to take a peek inside. Not just that, but the open dining space on the rooftop is worth checking out! So I hurriedly followed my friends inside and decided to be present ( my mind often wanders off ) at that moment.
This clinic, cafe & carwash business is owned by a dentist and his/her family thus its unique name! Unfortunately, he or she wasn't there. I could have had my teeth and gums have a thorough inspection!
Anyways, the interior itself got a modern, industrial style which also makes you feel that you ain't up above the mountains as well. There is a small nook on the right side perfect for the small group that we have. We were able to have an intimate bonding moment with each other. And since there were only a few customers at that time, seemed like we kind of have the whole place to ourselves!
The counter was small but neat and spacious at the same time. The menu and the prices were all written up on the board. The sweet food was displayed up front and on one side of the wall was store merchandise that one can buy as well! Then on the left side is a room that served as the dental clinic.
The rooftop served as a dining space that was filled with tables and chairs. Found some girls enjoying their meals as I took some photos and observed the surrounding environment. The rooftop was surrounded by the branches and leaves from the trees next to it. And the owners took advantage of this to bring out a refreshing vibe to their cafe shop. From a distance, a backhoe can be seen. I guess there was some sort of construction going on.
Aside from being a cafe and a dental shop, this was also a carwash facility! Although I didn't explore this part, it's located at the far right of the building. The parking space even has tables and chairs for their customers to lounge.
So what did I order for the food? There were a lot of options to choose: from milktea to frappe or coffee, and beer! They also offer rice meals, snacks and pizza!
I wasn't that hungry so I just bought some snacks which consists of 2 orders of French Fries ($2) ( for sharing but ended up eating it by myself since they were busy chatting with each other ) and the Citrus Punch ($.45)! And another friend ordered a Hungarian Meal for $2.2. Prices for the food were lower than the usual cafes I've been to so if you were looking for a cheap cafe in Balamban, this is the place to be! And although budget-friendly, the food tastes good so far! I was kind of surprised with the Citrus Punch too! It was so refreshing to drink! I might have to try their pizza next time!
