Hello everyone,
Welcome to my #Lam-lam Diary 004 | Eating Internal Organs. For today's Foodie adventure, I don't know if you will be excited to try it but as you realize in the title we tried a food that is hard to forget. Eating some internal Organs of a Pig.
Have you tried eating some internal organs of a Pig before, like a pig intestine or pig stomach and liver? We know in ourselves the functions of each internal organ and what is inside of it, like "SH_T" on the intestines and how the liver works out. Having this kind of Idea give us hesitant to even try it. I know it's not a usual food that we usually love but after experiencing its taste I can say that you must try it.
This food experience happened during our lunchtime last September 30, 2022, together with my previous colleagues in one of the known Local restaurants in Mandaue Cebu Philippines called "DELFA'S TUNGOLAN".
I don't know actually about this place, my colleague who is also a foodie and looking for the best foods here in Cebu introduced this to me. He said that it is a known restaurant in Mandaue Cebu. Vloggers also visit this place to try their food. So I look up on the internet to have an idea about this Restaurant and why are they interested in their food. And here is what I got from The Chui Show Vlog.
DELFA'S TUNGOLAN RESTAURANT offers the deep-fried intestine, stomach, and liver of a pig. I was shocked by the kinds of food they offer. My curiosity to taste it is getting higher while reading the nice feedback from their customers. But of course, I also check how they process this kind of food and knowing about this, it needs intensive and proper cleaning. I checked and asked some customers how they clean it and So far it makes me decide to try it.
So on that day at our lunchtime, we visited this place. It is just 15 minutes away from our project site so it's a little convenient for us. The place is exactly located in A.S.Fortuna Guizo Mandaue Cebu. It is just a small and simple restaurant beside the busy street of Mandaue.
Indeed, the restaurant is known, Crowds is already in the restaurant at that time when we arrive and we need to line up first to enter. We are Five take this challenge from our colleague to eat in this restaurant but when we saw this, two of us back out π . They are afraid of the look of this. The oily appearance of the food is a little scary but since we are already here and lined up. We need to try it and know why this bunch of people are crazy about this food.
We order 2 pcs each of the Intestine, stomach, and liver of the pig, 10 pcs of "Puso" (*rice inside a coconut leaves that is shaped into a heart *) and 3 pcs of soft drinks for the three of us. It's a little scary to eat at first π but after trying our first bite, we eat nonstop until we finished it up π . The food is just plain deep-fried but it tastes delightful and I've never tried it before. It has a strong aroma of lemon grass and onion , I think it is one of the reasons why it tastes good plus the Diy spicy sauce they give contemplating with the foods. This is a food that you will never expect until you try it.
I think for the overall rating out of 10 I will give them an 8. Why? The lacking two is not about the food. First, the place where I think they need to expand, though it's not cozy as others at least they have a bigger place for their customers. They have a lot of customers especially a lunchtime when some customers need to wait and line up outside for their turn. The Second is the plating, a little improvement with the plating I think, they are using bowls and plates covered with plastic. I don't know but it's not comfortable for me to eat with this also they are creating tons of trash plastics in this restaurant and I don't like it. Hoping they will realize it and address this.
How about you, have you tried this kind of food? What is your experience and how do you feel about it?
That's it Hivers in my #Lam-lam Diary 004. A kind of foodie adventure I will never forget. Thank you for joining me in this episode and hoping you discover something on my blog π.
