Hello everyone and all members of the community, how are you today? May you all always be healthy and happy in every step of life that we are doing. This Sunday, the rain didn't stop. From morning to night, it rained continuously in our city. I have also seen some news and info from social media about several streets and corners of the city that are experiencing flooding.
This time, I want to share the story of my culinary experience a few days ago. At that time, my wife and I were hungry at night. We tried to order a meal through an online application but didn't get any suitable food nor a courier willing to deliver our order. Finally, we decided to go out looking for food and also a place to hang out.
Living in Indonesia, we have many advantages. Like this time, at night there are still many restaurants, food stalls or street food that are still open and of course the ease of opening a business or finding a restaurant at night is a luxury that we can get when we live in a peaceful country.
This time, I visited a restaurant called Samudra Kupie. The location of this place to eat is on the highway. They are a food outlet that is open 24 hours. Samudra Kupie is a coffee shop that sells various foods and drinks. Rather than being called a coffee shop, Samudra Kupie is more like a food court. There are several foods and drinks that we can order here, such as Aceh noodles, martabak, roti canai, fried rice and for drinks coffee, tea pulls, or soft drinks are available.
Meat Aceh Noodles
My order was Mie Aceh Meat. Mie Aceh is a very popular noodle dish in Indonesia. We can easily find this food in various cities in Indonesia. There is a long history, why this food can be spread and found all over the place. This relates to the province of Aceh in the past. In the past, Aceh was hit by armed conflict, due to demands for independence from Indonesia. Some people have moved from Aceh, and some have opened a coffee shop and sell this food.
Mie Aceh is the most delicious food eaten at night. Mie Aceh has a savory and spicy taste. Mie Aceh is made with wet yellow noodles, in contrast to many other noodle dishes that use curly dry noodles. Mie Aceh has a delicious and unique taste. One of the things that makes this noodle so delicious is that it is cooked with lots of spices and leaves a strong aftertaste on our tongue. There are various choices of Acehnese noodles that we can choose from. Usually, there are several aceh noodle menus such as aceh crab noodles, aceh shrimp noodles, aceh meat noodles, or seafood aceh noodles.
Canai Durian
This food is one of the signature menus from Samudra Kupie. Canai is a kind of bread that we often find in Indian restaurants or Middle Eastern restaurants. Usually, canai is served with curry sauce, sugar or sweetened condensed milk.
Durian is considered the king of fruits and is a favorite fruit for many people in Indonesia. We can easily find various preparations from durian, such as durian martabak, durian ice cream, or durian jam.
When this dish came to our table, it was no different from the usual roti canai. I thought at first, I would eat canai and durian as the dip. However, the durian is located inside the roti canai. When the roti canai is opened, we will find the durian. This menu is a favorite of many people when visiting here.
Call me Isdarmady, because I have a full name that is very long, namely Isdarmady Syahputra Ritonga. I am a head of the family who work as Farmers Vegetables Hydroponic and Consultant Hydroponics, sometimes I also sell coffee from various regions in Indonesia.
I have expertise dispensing coffee with a variety of techniques and tools brewing, because I have the desire to make a coffee shop with hydroponics as centerpieces. Help me realize that dream.
