Welcome to my new series here in tha Hive - SIMON'S KITCHEN! I love cooking and I love inviting friends over for dinner because good food is something that really makes an evening. I decided that I want to start sharing some of my favorite recipes, easy and hard ones. And today I'm starting of with a real classic;
Spaghetti Bolognese!
This is a dish that everyone can make at home and the ingredients are easy to find wherever you are. You serve a plate of Bolognese on a normal weekday or spice a Friday evening up with some lit candles and a bottle of red vine.
Ingredients:
400 g Minced meat
100-150 g Diced bacon
1 yellow onion
2 Garlic cloves
1-2 Carrots
1 Celery stick
2 tbsp Tomato Puré
400 g Crushed Tomatoes
1 dl Red Vine
Fresh basil or other good herb
Salt & Black Pepper
Spaghetti (or your choice of pasta)
Let's Cook!
- Chop the onion, carrots, celery and garlic. Heat up the pan, add some nice olive oil and throw the bacon and the chopped veggies in! FILL YOUR KITCHEN WITH SOME BEAUTIFUL SMELLS!
- Add the minced meat and fry 'til completely cooked.
- Add Tomato puré, red vine and a few pinches of salt and pepper! Stir everything and let everyone in the pan get to know each other.
- Drop the Crushed Tomatoes into the pan and add the same amount of water. Chop some herbs and drop them in. Stir things up and leave the sauce to simmer for 30-45 minutes (depending on the level of your hunger). If the sauce gets dry, add some water...
- Now you have all the time in the world to cook some perfect al dente pasta!
- Final tasting, add salt and pepper if needed, serve everything on a plate, sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top and..
Bon Appetit!
I hope you got something out of this recipe and remember, this was my version of a real popular classic! If you have anything to add or comment, you know where and how to do it ;)
