Hello, hive friends!
I usually like to make some easy meals or snacks for my kids. I usually make cotufas or popcorn on the weekends.
This weekend my oldest daughter, asked me for sweet popcorn, which led me to look up several recipes on Facebook and choose from several the easiest but one that will work.

Por lo general me gusta preparar algunas comidas o snacks fáciles para mis hijos. Suelo hacer cotufas o palomitas de maiz los fines de semana.
Este fin de semana mi hija mayor, me pidió palomitas de maíz dulces, lo cual me llevó a buscar varias recetas en Facebook y escoger entre varias la más fácil pero que funcionará.
Popcorn is also known as "Cotufas" in Venezuela and as "Cangil" here in Ecuador. They are usually eaten while watching a movie and are used in memes for gossip jokes.
Popcorn can be salty or sweet and you can find their history on Wikipedia.
Las palomitas de maíz, también son conocidas como "Cotufas", en Venezuela y como "Cangil", aquí en Ecuador. Suelen comerse mientras ves una película y son usadas en los memes para chistes de chismes.

A continuación, la receta que utilicé para preparar, las palomitas de maíz caramelizadas...
Ingredients | Ingredientes:
- Popcorn.
- Half a cup of sugar.
- One tablespoon of butter.
- Half cup of liquid milk.
- Palomitas de maíz.
- Media taza de azúcar.
- Una cucharada de mantequilla.
- Media taza de leche líquida.
Preparation | Preparación
The first thing we are going to make is the caramel. We put the half cup of sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Once it begins to brown, add the liquid milk and stir until well mixed.
Add the butter and continue stirring.
1 Lo primero que vamos a hacer es el caramelo. Ponemos en olla la media taza de azúcar a fuego medio, sin dejar de revolver.
2 Una vez comience a dorar, añadimos la leche líquida y revolvemos hasta que se mezclen bien.
3 Añadimos la mantequilla y seguimos relvolviendo.
One trick I learned, the milk is so that our caramel stays liquid and when it cools it doesn't get hard.
You should have seen my wife's reaction when she saw that I was going to put milk in the caramel hehe.
Un truco que aprendí, la leche es para que nuestro caramelo quede líquido y al enfriarse no se ponga duro.
Hubieran visto la reacción de mi esposa cuando vio, que le iba a colocar leche al caramelo jeje.
4 We make our popcorn, and place it in a bowl, add the caramel, stir and let it rest for a few minutes.
4 Hacemos nuestras palomitas, y las colocamos en un bol, añadimos el caramelo, revolvemos y dejamos reposar unos minutos.
