Today is my 13th day in Samboan and I am still exploring the town and the nearby towns.
What I am going to share with you today is my recent experience in an Italian Restaurant located in Santander, Cebu. By the way, Santander is around 4.5 hours drive from Cebu City. It is located in the southernmost tip of mainland Cebu.
After I visited the St. Gabriel's church (the parish church of Santander), I asked the tricycle driver to convey me to Felice Ristorante Italiano. I am not familiar of the place since it was my first time in Santander. I paid him Php25.00 from the main town of Santander to Canlumacad (where the restaurant is situated).
The restaurant is not difficult to locate because it is situated near the main road however, it is not visible in the street, you can only see the signboard. The restaurant is situated behind the old house. As I arrived in the place, I never thought that there was a nice place behind the old gloomy house.
At first, I felt disappointed although the view was nice. The reason was as I arrived, the place was messy. Tables and chairs were not properly arranged. Unnecessary stuffs were scattered everywhere. Maybe I was too transparent and that made the owner explain immediately why the place looks untidy.
They relocated less than a month ago. The restaurant operation is temporarily suspended due to the relocation activity. They haven't finished setting up everything.
The place that I'd visited was their new location. The place that I have seen on the internet was their old location. I was lucky because the tricycle driver took me to their new location.
I thought I would not be abe to enjoy the place and the food. I thought they could not accomodate me but I was amazed when the owner asked my order.
They have available stocks in their kitchen although their operation is under suspension because some regular customers were keep coming and they could not decline them.
While the owner was on the process of preparing my order, I went down and checked around. They have many plants in their garden and some of their plants are herbs.
Their menu was just temporarily hanged in the corner.
I ordered.......
Felice Salad
Felice salad is one of their best sellers. It is composed of fresh tomato, fresh lettuce, fresh basil leaves, oregano, special olive oil and balsamic vinegar).
Homemade Ice Cream
The texture is not as fine as the leading ice cream supplier in the Philippines but it was still delicious. I requested to mix the 3 flavors (banana, chocolate and mango). Since it was hot that day I was able to finish 6 scoops of ice cream equivalent to 2 orders.
Italian Bread
I've tried the italian bread for the first time and I liked the taste. It was more delicious because it was freshly baked as they served the bread.
This was my view while I was eating my foods.
My tummy was full and I was having a great time talking with the restaurant owner.
