Today, I'm sharing a recipe for Lauki ka halwa with you. Lauki ka halwa is a delicious dessert made from bottle gourd (lauki). It's a dessert that's not only tasty but also easy to make.
To make this, you'll need the following ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 500 grams of grated bottle gourd (lauki)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 4-10 almonds, finely chopped (or ground)
Instructions:
- Start by washing the grated bottle gourd thoroughly.
Then, take a pan, add ghee, and heat it. Add the grated bottle gourd and cook it on low flame. After 1 whistle, turn off the heat.
Remove the bottle gourd and squeeze out any excess water. The bottle gourd should be completely dry.
In a separate pan, add ghee, and then add the bottle gourd. Cook it for about 5 minutes on low heat.
- When the halwa turns a little golden-brown and the ghee separates, add cardamom powder.
- After that, add the almonds and sugar, and mix well. Our halwa is now ready.
- Transfer it to a bowl and garnish it with some khoya (mawa), almonds, and cashews. You can adjust the amount of nuts as per your preference
