Preparing Homemade Food (Lutong Bahay) for Special Occasions

As a family it is our great feeling if one member finished her/his college education. It is an important rite of passage for every individual.
Hi hello and good day my dear friends of this great Hive Community. How are you this time? I do hope that you all are doing fine. For today’s blog I want to share with you all my fantastic experiences in preparing homemade food (Lutong Bahay) for my nephew’s graduation.
Yesterday I went to my sister’s house to help them in preparing homemade delicious and healthy food for my nephew”s graduation party. We helped each other to prepare everything on that special day.
How to cook Bangus ala pobre
First, we washed and cleaned the two kilograms of Bangus and slice it in halves. After, we marinated the sliced bangus, and fried it until it became golden brown. Then, we set it aside.
We prepared the sauce with the following ingredients: five pieces potato sliced into cubes, two pieces of regular-size carrots sliced into cubes, soy sauce, garlic, oyster sauce, ground black pepper, brown sugar, onion rings .
Pork Menudo
The second set of food we prepared was the delicious pork menudo my youngest child’s favorite.
We prepared the following ingredients: two kilograms of boneless pork meat, three pieces potato of regular-size, two pieces carrots, two pieces of bell pepper and half a cup of tomato sauce, ground black pepper and seasonings.
Bicol Express (My Own Version)

It was the most exciting part of the preparation wherein I cooked my version of Bicol Express. It was my first to cooking this kind of recipe.
First I prepared the following ingredients: Two kilograms of boneless pork, garlic, onion, ginger, sword pepper, hot pepper, oyster sauce and the coconut milk. If you don't have coconut milk, you can replace it with Ginataang gulay which is very affordable and easy to use. This dish is very delicious, spicy, creamy, and flavorful.
The most common ingredients of our nutritious homemade foods are the carrots and potatoes. These veggies contain vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E and also minerals and antioxidants that helps the body fight for cell damage and inflammation. Bell peppers are good source of vitamin A and fiber it also have antioxidants properties that may help to protect against diseases cardiovascular and cancer diseases. Ginger also reduce inflammation, which may cause depression. It also prevent-post traumatic disorder.
Lechon
Not but not the least is the lechon. Lechon is the main menu of the event. It is said that a celebration is not complete without the presence of our crispy and delicious lechon. It symbolizes the joyfulness of the gatherings. The most delicious part of lechon is the crispy skin and the ribs. It can be part of healthy eating diet as long as you eat it moderately.
It was so much fun talking and sharing jokes with friends and family. Indeed it was a successful celebration and forever thankful to our Almighty Father for giving this blessing and opportunity.
