I was inspired by chef John Zhang to make beef stir fried. His video in taste show is very well made. So, I decided to make stir fried beef with my own twist!
But before sharing that, I will also share my full of spices roasted chicken guac that I made. This one is more simple, easy to make yet flavorful.

Stir Fried Beef a la John Zhang
For this recipe, you gonna need 2 ounce beef and some vegetables of your preference, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce.
I was freezing the beef so you'd have to take it out and leave it at room temperature before cooking it.
While at it, cut some vegetables that you will use. I use cauliflower and carrots in this recipe. I also added some bokcoy.
Here are all the ingredients that are needed
Before chopping everything marinade the beef. So the marinade consist of an egg, a spoon of corn starch, soy sauce, cayenne pepper, grated ginger, salt and sugar.
This time, my mom taught me how to make flowers from carrots. I think I am so in love and I will make my carrots looking like that from now on.
Now after you have everything chopped, the next step is boiling the
vegetables. Do not boil it too long or otherwise your vegetable won't look as fresh on the plate. It's something I learned!
Strain the vegetables and let them dry.
Heat the pan and add the marinated beef into the non-sticky pan or a wok. I don't have a wok so non-sticky pan works.
Add a bit of water. Don't add too much because the vegetable would look sad.
Like that bowl above, the vegetables were looking very sad. I learned from this that I should never cook them too long. So, time precision matters!!!
Obviously, Chef John Zhang has it 10000% better. Also, he's the one who made me buy chef knives instead of regular knife. So, he's sort of an inspiration to me. His cooking revolves around Asian dishes that's quite fascinating. My family loves to eat Chinese food but Chef John Zhang gives a twist to everything he made. He makes Chinese food fancy and super healthy too. He is also the one who makes me want to have a proper kitchen and a wood cutting board. I have the wood cutting board but not the proper kitchen yet 😅
Anyway, the taste was extremely savory. I am someone who used to eat simple roasted beef, steak, and roasted meat. So that stir fried beef was exceptionally savory. My mom said it was decent but sadly, she commented that my palate isn't regular as I have strict preferences. No MSG, No excessive sugar, No salt. She said that if we were to open our cafe, I need to learn how to make food that people love, not just people with strict preferences like I do. I still indulge in those food but it's sort of like a guilty pleasure.
That's all for the dinner ideas today.
Have you ever tried making those two?
