Hey! My first post in this community, so hello and I hope life is treating you well! I thought I’d start with 3 plates of my favorite sushi. This sushi restaurant is on Awaji Island in Hyogo Japan, absolute beast of a place and it’s called Ose. Like any good sushi restaurant the menu changes almost daily.
Uni or sea urchin or kina(for the kiwis).
Growing up in NZ, I couldn’t stand this stuff, but I’ve seen the error in my ways and can’t get enough! Japanese uni are smaller than the NZ variety, and are unbelievable. Have to be careful though, like almost any product, there’s good stuff, and not so good stuff.
Ama ebi or raw shrimp/prawn.
If I could(loosely translated to “if I had a lot of money”), I’d eat about 10 of these things, sooooo good! Really creamy and jam packed with flavor.
Otoro or high grade tuna.
This is basically the crown jewel in the sushi kingdom, and once you eat it you’ll understand why.
