Warung Santoso is taken from the name of the owner of the shop, namely Mas Santoso. This stall is right on the side of Protocol road on Jalan Tengku Amir Hamzah Binjai, not far from where I live. Today I recommend this place to my teaching friends, because there is one of my friends who really wants to eat the duck menu.
At Warung Santoso, many visitors prefer Lesehan, do you know Lesehan? Lesehan is a place where we don't sit on chairs but we sit down or sit freely under no chairs and eat without rules, while chatting about anything, this is a warm dining atmosphere in my opinion. But if you don't like the lesehan atmosphere, you can choose an ordinary place to eat, there are chairs and tables.
In this shop, actually many menus are provided, ranging from fried rice, soto Medan, grilled fish, grilled chicken, meatballs, various kinds of noodles and much more, as well as the drinks. There's so many different kinds of drinks out here unless you guys are looking for booze, which obviously won't be there yach guys. What is here is only available various types of juice, tea, coffee and soft drinks and mineral water of course.
Of all the menus at this Warung, the most people are looking for is the duck menu. Not because the other menus are not delicious, but because the duck here is much bigger than the duck in other stalls and the taste produced in this stall is that they actually make their own secret seasoning, because when compared to other stalls, others, the taste of the duck is only soy sauce then added with chili sauce and fresh vegetables, in this shop the taste is very perfect.
The perfection of the taste of the roasted duck at Warung Santoso lies in the duck which they raise themselves and is located behind the Warung, then the method of roasting this duck using traditional charcoal and then roasting the duck to produce a dry outer skin while the inside of the duck still looks wet. but the texture of the meat is very tender, the seasoning is perfectly absorbed into the duck meat.
The taste that can be expressed from one serving of roasted duck here is, the duck skin is crispy, the meat is soft, spicy which is right but not from chili and pepper, combined with a sweet taste that comes from soy sauce and a mixture of palm sugar and butter and a splash of broth oil that instantly made the smell of the duck smell very fragrant. However, it's a shame that I can't capture this duck roasting process, so I can't share it with all of my friends.
Apart from the taste of the roasted duck, which is appetizing, if in Indonesia you eat duck, grilled, grilled chicken or anything that is grilled without chili sauce, it doesn't taste perfect. At Warung Santoso, there are two types of chili sauce, namely chili sauce with a medium level of spiciness and sambal Gila with a very spicy level of spiciness, all served, you just have to choose. How about in your country or in other areas where there is a menu like this? For one portion of roasted duck complete with rice, it is priced at IDR 27,000.
The facilities at Warung Santoso are toilets, prayer rooms, free wifi, close hand washing facilities, a comfortable place even though it is on the side of a big road, super fast service and friendly and neat waiters. So once in a while if you go to BInjai, please stop by this shop. And enjoy the menu.
