In the Philippines, a boodle fight is a common cultural practice. I am filipino and it gives me great pleasure and pride to share with you our very own cultural practice that we call boodle fight.
Boodle fight is when we place a variety of delicious Filipino dishes on a long banana leaf and use our hands to eat . For the same reason that we use our hands when eating, we also refer boodle fight as kamayan. We don't sit down to eat, but instead stand shoulder to shoulder. The tremendous sense of unity and closeness that a boodle fight generates is similar to having everyone at the table share a single plate of food. The happiness we feel when we share a meal with our family and friends allows us to savor every bite. Preparing and sharing a meal together teaches us valuable lessons in cooperation, communication and most importantly we gain more experiences. We won't have to worry about who will wash the dishes either, because you can just fold up the banana leaf and throw it away. It would be really wholesome for you guys to have a boodle fight with your friends and family, so I recommend that you give it a shot.
