I’ve been light on the dairy the last few years but I had to make an exception for Pi Day. This evening I stopped by Your Pie, a pizza franchise with over 75 locations in 18 states across the US. They’re known for their brick ovens and personal 10” pies that you can dress up how you like for the same price, regardless of how many toppings. I like to appreciate and identify the different flavors on my pizza so I didn’t go too overboard though.
I topped it off with black olives, sun dried tomatoes, and mushrooms. I wanted jalapeños but I was sharing with my daughter. Wanted to go with banana peppers for an alternative but they were out 😒. That’s one thing that sucks about ordering food online…if you order something for pick up with ingredients they don’t have in stock, you either have to take it without (because it’s prepared already) or sit and wait for your order to be cooked all over again.
Now for the pizza. I’d give it a 7/10. Couldn’t been a little more heavy-handed on the seasoning and I expected some great crust because of the brick oven but it was a little too doughy. Definitely not bad though.
Even though first impressions matter (especially with food), they were slammed for the holiday 🍕 so I won’t judge em too hard. They also were offering a $3.14 discount on all 10” pies for the day so that was a plus. The restaurant has a nice vibe to it so I’ll eat in with the family and give whoever is on that oven another chance 😆
