Just last weekend, a good college friend who's been assigned in Eastern Visayas for a few years now came to Cebu to cast her vote for the National Election. Her family is here in Cebu but because of her Sales-related job, she's been traveling the entire Eastern Visayas in the last 3 years or so. Despite the distance and the years we haven't seen each other, we managed to keep in touch. She told me she'd be in town the weekend before the election day but sadly, I'd be spending that weekend at home some 42km away. It's a good thing she got to extend her stay in Cebu because of some training. That's why last weekend, we were finally able to meet.
We went into this brunch place at the heart of Cebu City, which I'd share in a separate post! Later in the afternoon, we moved to one of Cebu's biggest malls, SM Seaside City Cebu, to particularly get our dose of yogurt for the day. Yup, our craving was specific as that! 😂
A few months back, Koomi opened its first-ever store in Cebu and people warmly welcomed the Australian yogurt-based drink brand. I rarely go to the mall and rarely get tempted to have food/drink delivered to my office. But this time, I'm finally giving Koomi a try! Their stall in the mall was a small one. It ain't designed so people could buy their drinks and chat in the corner; they only have a small corner with a long table and three high chairs. I ordered I’m Berry Blue Without You (a yogurt-based drink with blueberries). My friend ordered Waterberry Wonder Froyo (frozen yogurt with strawberry); it looked delicious. It's a bit guiltless since it's a probiotic drink that helps in the digestive system, they use natural sweetener (fruit honey) and they also claim that their fruits and yogurt are freshly made every day. It may not make that big difference but compared to my favorite chocolate frappe which is nothing but a cup of sugars, I must say that Koomi's a great substitute from time to time. But not giving up my cup of frappe. Lol!
