If you are a real die hard foodie...I believe there must be at least a plant of an herb somewhere at your place...or maybe in your kitchen!
It is always great to have your fresh herbs handy like this...isn't it!?
At my place, in nearly all the dishes that we prepare, we use some type of herbs while my wife everyday has her Morroccan Mint Tea which uses quite a lot of mint...
So basically, we use a real lot of herbs at my place + at my bistrot too!!! And whenever we need some mint or chives for example, I have to take out the car and drive 5-10 minutes just to buy mint...
And another problem is that at my place there's no land or space to plant - we have to plant in small pots!
Pots = Space!!!
Yeah...with mum's flower plants already taking much spaces around the house...there's not enough for our herbs...
Mum's Idea
One day my mum got that idea and herself placed an order with my cousin to build this small structure for us - Like a vertical garden!
She ordered 2 pcs - One for me and one for my brother.
I placed mine on top of my roof, where we have a some free space and we already have some herbs growing nicely...
I really like this idea...when the herbs will grow bigger...each step will look green and nice!
Basil / Coriander / Mint
These are the main herbs that we use much...and they are already planted on our vertical herbs garden!
This is our beautiful basil plant...the one at the back has been attacked by snails!Lol!
A week back my mum planted these coriander seeds, and today when I checked, I noticed that they are coming up nicely!
Maybe in 10-15 days, we will be able to start using them in our dishes!
Mint...Mint...Mint!!!
Moroccan loves mint...and they need a lot of!!!
And as my wife is Moroccan, she needs it...now things will be easy for her!
She planted 2 varieties for now and for sure we will add some more in the coming days!
I am waiting for the different herbs that we already planted to grow and see how our vertical garden is looking like...
Next to be added on there are thyme, chives and spring garlic...
I am getting quite a lot of ideas when looking at our vertical herbs garden...maybe I'll order 1 or 2 more if this one comes like I have in mind...
