Pasapalos el Caldero
My favorite place to have breakfast is in Pasapalos el Caldero, it is a very old place that sells the best cakes in Mérida, well there is another place called Pasteles Mérida, which I do not stop visiting, the characteristics of these cakes are their Andean flavor.
The place is an old house located on the edge of the Chama river basin, it has a spectacular view.
There are different flavors of cakes, there are ground meat, shredded meat, beans, ham and cheese; And the very famous pizza cakes, yes pizza, is a pizza flavored filling, very good for pizza lovers.
The place is very homey and typical of Venezuelan Andean places, there is a small table where you can enjoy the cakes right there, you can also order it to go but since we are in quarantine, you can only buy it to go.
As you can see they are very crispy and tasty; their shape can be square or round, to defire them in some way, since the round ones are made of meat, cheese, or ham with cheese; while the squares are made of pizza and beans.
Like every place it also sells hot peppers and sauces to take away, its typical sauce is tartar sauce; very good with these Andean cakes, likewise sells cheese tequeños and cheese with chocolate.
(Tequeños are wheat dough filled with any ingredient)
