Paakashala is a chain of fine-dine restaurants and is quite popular in regions of Karnataka, mostly in and around Bangalore. They inaugurated a new branch at Kunigal, Karnataka, which is a small town located on the sides of the Mangalore - Bangalore Highway NH57.
The work 'Paakashala' is used in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and other local Indian languages and translates to 'kitchen'. This chain of restaurants is pure vegetarian, which was at first kind of a turn-off for me. 🙊 However, when we got to the place and actually ate, it was definitely worth it.
The restaurant chain is owned and founded by Mr. K N Vasudev Adiga. He had initially started off with Adiga's brand in 1994 but later sold it off and started a new company named Sri Anantheswara Foods in 2018 under which he started with the Paakashala chain.
Along with a few other bloggers, I was invited to have lunch with Mr. Adiga and got to learn a lot more about the restaurant chain and how it all started.

Although we tried a wide variety of eats at the place, in this post, I am going to share with you my favorite part of the meal. Obviously - the desserts. :P
I will be updating the rest of it on another post soon.
They served us some Indian classics and ice creams. What was intriguing is that all of these were wholly prepared in-house.
We were served a platter of Indian sweets which were prepared in-house. There were five varieties including pedas and burfis. They were all so rich and melted in the mouth on the first bite.

Next up, we had a people's favourite - Gulab Jamun. Drenched in perfectly sweet sugar syrup, these little spongy balls were perfectly soft, delicate and flavourful.

Gulab Jamun
A very popular dessert with Mughal origins - the Shahi Tukda is made of fried bread slices and is dipped and soaked in rose, saffron and cardamom flavored syrup. The words Shahi (Persian) and Tukda (Urdu) mean 'a royal piece'. It is also called 'Double ka meetha' which translates to 'twice the sweetness'. They nailed the flavors on this one.

I am an absolute sucker for ice cream and if it's chocolate flavored, that's itttt. I ain't sharing.
We were served some rich and creamy chocolate ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce that made it super chocolatey and it quite literally had a cherry on top, lol.
Ice Cream - Chocolate
We also had strawberry-flavored and vanilla-flavored ice creams. These were equally rich and creamy as the chocolate ice cream and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
