Have you ever tried veg biryani?
The most famous dish of Hyderabad, India. Be it vegetarian or non-vegetarian, biryani is adored by everyone.
In order to taste the best of biryani. My parents and I went to Bikkagane Biryani- a famous restaurant which is mostly dedicated to variety of biryani. This restaurant is present in almost every state of India. We headed towards Connaught place's branch.
C.P. is fairly large place and it's market consists of multiple no. of restaurants which are dedicated to different cuisines. Restaurants like- Biryani by Kilo, Biryani blues, Lazez etc and all of them are super famous. We just had developed a taste for Bikkagane Biryani so we straight rushed for the dinner over there.
The theme of the restaurant was quite traditional and vibrant with a sleek style. The red walls with multiple portraits of the cities and places where the branch lies was wonderful.
Sometimes it happens the vibe of the restaurant is so interesting that you cannot help yourself but to indulge in it completely. The high ceiling gave the impression of openness which seemed quite welcoming.
We just don't look for the taste in any restaurant but the vibes, comfort, entertainment and ambience too. Which is why people visit restaurants If it was all about food then people would just order it online. The experience of dinning out is very precious and it will truly never be overtook by online ordering.
We all know how hard it is to maintain a restaurant and specially in expensive metropolitan city like Delhi. I am born and bought up in this vibrant city and been living here for like forever it is quite simply understood that if a restaurant is maintained for multiple years on the same spot with same capacity or higher then it truly means they are successful.
Let's jump back to the food, We ordered veg biryani since we are Vegetarian and it was delicious. Under veg category there were multiple options but the most favourite was the Panner Biryani
Paneer biryani is basically cottage cheese and for biryani, The cottage cheese is fried with multiple spices and vegies which makes up the tadka. The cottage cheese is white in colour but with the tadka of spices it turns out to be brownish color and then this veggies and panner tadka is cooked with the rice in an handi. Handi is useually a pot made up of brass or mud. Here the brass handi is used.
Biryani comes in handi and is useually served by the waiter as they can serve the equal quantities as the tadka is moreover at the bottom layers of rice and if we serve it by ourselves we will miss the main ingredient at the bottom. So they do the best job.
As seen in my plat the biryani is served in a well amount of portion. with biryani we have two sides which are Rasam and curd.
Basic unsalted curd is served and the special south Indian sides is Rasam which is cooked with coconut, south indian spices, dry fruits and curd. I am well aware of only these ingredients but honestly there are so much more to it. Since I am north Indian and this dish is specifically south Indian and I might be missing ssome of the names of ingredients and pardon me.
I am truly in love with south Indian delicacies. The food and culture is to die for. This was such an wonderful experience. While writing I can still feel the aroma of the biryani and my mouth is watered on just thinking and writing about it.
Whenever you get chance of trying a biryani, always grab it and enjoy.
