Wednesday was a holiday and who would miss the opportunity
As I wrote in my last post, Raksha Bandhan holiday was on Wednesday and the boy did not want to miss the opportunity, because it's the only day in the week on which everyone eats non-veg. And then there are categories - she eats only mutton ( no chicken or even egg), daughter eats only chicken and me and my son eat everything :) So he asked me to bring both chicken as well as mutton along with few eggs. A chicken Dum Biriyani, with a mutton curry and a chicken tikka was planned.
Even though it was late by the time which they told me bring these, I still went and got them what they wanted. Because the boy does not stay at home on week days , and any holiday coincident with Wednesday is rare.
He marinated the tikka chicken and kept it for the evening. And then the Biriyani and mutton was for the lunch. Normally the shops give boneless chicken for tikka out of the chicken breast pieces, but then I waited a little and asked them to give boneless leg pieces. Do you have any reservation of chicken ? For some reason, I like the leg pieces as they are tender, and tastes much better than the breast pieces. Some may argue that they contain more calories, but then we barely eat non-veg - hardly 4-5 times in a month may be. So it really does not matter a lot. Now look at the foods that the master chef prepared with the assistance from Mom - I advise them to take caution and the lady uplift heavy things as it may slip from his hand. He is not ready for kitchen affairs , but then he want to make on his own. So a fine balance has to be built.
And then here comes the evening.
He gets some knowledge by watching recipes online, but then he has that instinct of food to twist as per his plan and they were truly mind blowing. Often I think, he would better be a Food Entrepreneur and I will definitely encourage him to start his own start up as soon as he gets some time. Until then, he is definitely saving a lot from my pocket, and enjoying a 5-star cuisine at the same time.
