Hello, I am new to the group and am wowed by all the beautiful pics of food. I wonder if some of the bread experts can offer some suggestions as to where I went wrong with this morning's bread making. I've made this recipe before and this is the first time the bread turned out with a bumpy top. The one thing I did differently today was to use vegetable oil instead of butter. Which makes me wonder if that is why my bread turned out ugly. It seemed like an easy swap of oil for butter, but if this is the result, I'll stick with butter from now on.
Don't get me wrong. We are still going to eat this bread, I'm just puzzled as to why it turned out the way it did. Thanks in advance for your tips and insight. Cheers!
