Who doesn't like snacks, especially sweet snacks, such as cakes ?
This time I tried to make pukis cake for an afternoon snack. This pukis cake is one of the traditional Indonesian snacks made from flour-based dough and cooked in a special molded frying pan. These are snacks commonly found in Indonesian traditional markets. This time I will make two flavors of Pukis cake, original with chocolate filling on top and chocolate Pukis cake.
To make the cake, the ingredients needed are flour, coconut milk, yeast, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, chocolate bars and cocoa powder.
How to make :
• Pour 65 ml of coconut milk into a saucepan then add 335 ml of water, then add a pandan leaf and cook the coconut milk until it boils. Then let it cool down.
• Weigh 170gr of sugar and put it in a container. Then add the eggs and stir with the sugar until the sugar is dissolved. After that add the vanilla and yeast.
• Then weigh 300 grams of flour and mix slowly into the sugar and egg mixture.
• Next add the coconut milk slowly into the mixture while stirring.
• Then weigh as much as 100gr of butter and melt. After the temperature is low, add the butter to the mixture while stirring.
• After that, let the dough rest and cover the dough for about 1 hour.
• While waiting for the dough, we melt the chocolate to taste.
• After an hour and the dough has risen, stir briefly until blended. Then take 3 tablespoons of the mixture and add it to the melted chocolate and also add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder and mix well.
• Next, heat the mold on the stove and don't forget to apply butter so the dough doesn't stick. After that pour the mixture into the mold and cook until cooked for about 5 minutes.
And finally the Pukis cake ready to served.
Usually the pukis cake are long and slightly oval in shape, but since I don't have a mold and only a round one, I made a round pukis like this.
This cake is soft and sweet. Perfect to enjoy with hot tea.
