Binignit- a traditional dish in the Philippines which is usually served during Good Friday. Binignit usually serves as a substitute for a meal during the Good Friday to observe fasting and avoidance of meat among the Catholics. Binignit consists of a coconut milk, banana, sweet potato, purple yam, tapioca pearls, jackfruit, landang (as researched, it's called palm flour jelly balls π ).
My parents always make sure to follow this tradition. So last Friday, they prepared Binignit. My father bought the ingredients ahead since the price of the ingredients spikes during this "Binignit season". Well, the prices are already high even though we bought it ahead of time. My father wants to have enough Binignit for the whole neighborhood since we are the only ones who cooks Binignit in our place (I don't know why our neighbors stopped cooking Binignit, maybe because of the ingredients' price). After the Binignit was cooked, we shared it to all our neighbors and weβre glad that they liked how it tasted.
