Conozco esta bebida desde pequeña en las celebraciones familiares, mis padres la hacían pero por su puesto no la probé hasta adulta.
The Guarapita de parchita is a thick drink very popular in Venezuela that is born from the "guarapo", which brightens up celebrations and evenings with family and friends at the shore of the beach. Made from fruit juice and liquor or white rum, gin or a combination of them; I have used a strong whiskey and fruit parchitas.
I have known this drink since I was a little girl in family celebrations, my parents used to make it but of course I didn't try it until I was an adult.
4 parchitas grandes
Media botella de whisky
1/2kg de azúcar
1 cucharada de granadina
4 large parchitas
Half a bottle of whiskey
1/2kg of sugar
1 tablespoon of grenadine
- Preparamos el jugo de parchita en dos pasos, primero picamos las parchitas le sacamos la pulpa y reservamos, en una olla con agua sancochamos los cascos a fuego alto por media hora o mas, hasta que aflojen.
We prepare the parchita juice in two steps, first we chop the parchitas, remove the pulp and reserve, in a pot with water parboil the hulls over high heat for half an hour or more, until they become loose.
- Seguidamente preparamos el jugo con un litro de agua y añadimos la pulpa de parchita licuamos y colamos.
Then prepare the juice with a liter of water and add the parchita pulp, blend and strain.
- Hervimos el jugo de parchita y agregamos el azúcar, batimos constantemente hasta que su consciencia sea algo espesa, casi como un almíbar.
Boil the parchita juice and add the sugar, whisk constantly until it becomes somewhat thick, almost like a syrup.
- Los cascos ya están listo y reposados, le sacamos la pulpa con una cuchara, agregamos en una licuadora junto con el jugo espeso de parchita.
The hulls are ready and rested, remove the pulp with a spoon, add in a blender along with the thick parchita juice.
- Una vez licuados el jugo, es hora de agregarle el licor, y la cucharada de granadina que le da un toque dulce y color a la Guarapita. dejar enfriar en la nevera de un día para otro para que este se concentre mas todos sus ingredientes.
Once the juice is liquefied, it is time to add the liqueur and the tablespoon of grenadine that gives a sweet touch and color to the Guarapita. Let it cool in the refrigerator overnight so that it concentrates more all its ingredients.
My Guarapita de parchita is ready to serve and toast to life. Nothing better than enjoying one of your favorite foods, and if it is in the company of important and special people, it is super.
