Today I made a dish with "Paper", yes you do not see it wrongly. It's truly paper but rice paper. Like Tacos, we had the filling with beef, chicken, and beans... With summer roll, the fillings are pork, shrimp, other lettuce, and basil. And can not forget about one of the famous dishes in Roll Family is Spring roll, which took the heart of many people from the first bite and helps Asian cuisine reach out further to many countries. Summer roll is another version which is less oil and more vegetables and but still has its significance.
I think summer roll is suitable for many people and healthy also because it contains so many veggies in one roll. Making it also simple too, you don't need to take more time to prepare it.
1 pack of rice paper
2 tbsp of shrimp sauce
400g pork belly
200 gram of rice vermicelli
Quarter of pineapple
1 lemon, some garlic, some chili.
Vegetables: herbs, lettuce, basil...
Spices: salt, sugar
I think the main part of making this is boiling the pork belly. Because it's the only part that is cooked, add a little salt and sugar and onion, 2 slices of ginger to the pot with the meat that might help to get rid of the smell, and boil it slowly until it is tender. Cut the meat into bite-sized slices after it has cooled and been removed from the pot.
Step 2: Then I will make the sauce. This is just my usual way of making the sauce. I will put on a quarter of minced pineapple on the pan with 1 tsp of garlic and onion to make it more flavor. Then I put on 3 tbsp of shrimp paste. It's very salty so please add 1 1/2 tbsp of sugar, I think it will be better if we taste it to make sure that is suitable for our appetite. You can add 2 tsp of lemon juice and chili if you want to eat spicily.
Wash the vegetables and you can cut a cucumber into long slices or pineapple to put on the roll. I did not use it this time, but all the vegetables are welcomed.
Step 4: Arrange rice vermicelli, meat, vegetables inside the rice paper and wrap it. Then enjoy the roll, don't forget to dip on the sauce.
