Today I want to share a delicious recipe of a traditional sweet of our state of Sucre which has been prepared from generation to generation as is the majarete. It was customary for my grandmother to prepare the snack of the week with love and dedication, she used to use a large pan to prepare the majarete, when it was ready, she would serve it in the shell of the baking pan, When the snack was ready she served it in the coconut shells, cups and plates, we all sat down to enjoy this delicious snack, the rest of the majarete preparation was emptied into deep dishes to cool, then cut into pieces and stored in the refrigerator to eat during the week.
Preparación-Preparation
For its preparation we need the following ingredients: 1 cup of corn flour, 2 coconuts, Cinnamon, Papelón, Water.
Lo primero que se debe hacer sacar la pulpa del coco, luego procedemos a rallarla se coloca en un recipiente hondo, se le agrega el agua, se exprime lo suficiente para desprender la leche del del coco, seguidamente utilizamos un colador para separar la leche del bagazo del coco y obtener las tazas de leche de coco que se requieren que son aproximadamente 6 taza.
The first thing to do is to remove the coconut pulp, then we proceed to grate it, place it in a deep bowl, add water, squeeze enough to remove the coconut milk, then use a strainer to separate the milk from the coconut bagasse and obtain the required cups of coconut milk, which are approximately 6 cups.
Once the cups of milk are emptied into a shovel, mix it with the corn flour and stir it slowly until all the ingredients are diluted.
Add the grated papelón to the mixture and a pinch of salt and cook over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring the preparation to prevent it from sticking to the pan.
Ready, turn off the stove, serve the hot majarete in the containers of your choice and add the cinnamon powder.
This delicious recipe can be enjoyed hot or cold. It is customary when a large quantity of majarete is prepared to keep a good portion in the refrigerator for storage and enjoy it during the week.
