As a kid Jurassic Park was the best thing to have ever graced a screen it was magical and everything about it was beyond awesome. Something about Dinosaurs peak the imagination and I see the same thing in my son who too also loves Dinosaurs.
But the new saga's that have come to see our screens over the past few years have been anything but decent and it's return was just a remake of the original. A park with Dinosaurs and the Dino's get out. Except now we have engineered DNA to give new Dino's
Now don't get me wrong it was pretty cool seeing a T-Rex loose in the streets and it brought back memories of Jurassic Park 2 when a T-Rex was loose but lets be honest that was a pretty crappy follow up film.
It also takes a bit to realise what is happening in this film at the start especially when the Helicopter just gives up chasing the T-Rex.
Turns out we're in some form of utopian future where all this genetic modification and cloning has brought back a lot of Dinos that can now breed in the wild and they're taking back the world living freely amongst us.
That plot hole alone had me off side because no amount of "save the animals" campaign would actually be that successful especially if their were living carnivorous Dinosaurs just roaming around eating people. I mean we live in a world where if a shark or crocodile bites someone we kill it, what makes Dinosaurs special? not to mention there wouldn't be enough space or natural food for them to eat. Well unless they ate us!
Well turns out it was just the baseline of the film in order to pay fan service to all the original cast and to close off everyone's arc and unfortunately due to shonky writing there were so many loose ends to close of that it provided a poorly produced film. A total disappointment for a film that made such a large impact on so many kids lives.
I mean they did manage to throw in some additional Dino's along the way and bring in some older ones too which I found cool but the idea of the genetically modified locusts was kind of out of place. The only purpose it served was to attract our former cast to the new research facility.
Where there was an entire Jurassic world in the mountains which were covered in snow and would have been freezing. The environment would not have been hospitable to our Dino's nor to our cast as they dove into liquid water in the middle of frozen mountains. There was no explanation about any of it.

We did get some rehashed scenes incorporated into the new film and much of it was purely fan service at a high reduced rate that left me feeling quite ripped off.
Then there were other scenes that made absolutely no sense to the films main plot lines like I still don't know why these things were being chased. Perhaps it was just to introduce our poachers who randomly decided to follow someone home and then be somehow connected to another ring that knows about a clone human.
There was one scene I found quite crafty and that was when the T-Rex passed through a ring and gave the franchises famous logo which was quite fun.
Other than that it was a subpar film that failed to deliver on multiple levels and I am still totally confused about the scene when some raptors are trained with Laser lights one of the guys has a gun but instead of shooting the raptor he shoots a lock. I mean I know what I would be shooting if something was trying to eat me.
What were your thoughts of the film? We're you expecting more?
