Hello teachers, students, and researchers, I am here again today, Wednesday, 15th April, 2020, to share a guide on how to measure "Self–Confidence of Physically Challenged Students (in Tertiary Institutions) relative to their Clothing Choice" through research.
Background Information
Yesterday, we had looked at how self-esteem factors clothing choice considerations among the physically challenged students. The emphasis of today's research guide is tpo look at another self-concept construct being Self Confidence. It is important to not the unique difference between self-esteem and Self confidence.
This study carefully pictures that self-confidence is critical in the clothing choice considerations since clothing is principally an expression of the personality of an individual. This fact also holds valid for the physically challenged persons who dress to either hide or camouflage their disabled parts in a bid to defy the limitations placed by their disability to belong to a social class, achieve a dream or live a satisfying life.
Self-confidence have been found to significantly relate with clothing choice considerations of physically challenged persons in tertiary institutions. It is obvious that since the tertiary institution is majorly a gathering of young people to learn, clothing and fashion in general has been held in high place. Thus, the physically challenged in a bid to be among are tasked to condition their self-concepts such that the outward expression of themselves in terms of their clothing choices is affected in the process.
Self-confidence is about feeling good about what one is wearing, looking poised and feeling self-assured in situations. The clothing choice of a physically challenged person can elevate their attitude and self-confidence. It thus points to the fact that no matter what form of disability, if a physically challenged person would choose appropriate clothing that enhances his/her physical traits, he/she would feel self-assured and confident.
It is against this background that related studies to measure the Self–Confidence of Physically Challenged Students (in Tertiary Institutions) relative to their Clothing Choice becomes important.
I have put in over seven years into educational researches, and I have discovered that it is a popular problem among research students to be able to construct their instruments for collection of data even when this is a major component for the success of the research. In the coming days, I would be sharing more research guides and tips for students and teachers. This is my way of supporting the @Steemiteducation and the #Education-Hive community.
I decided to put below the following guide questions for a researcher who is interested in working on a topic related to "Self–Confidence of Physically Challenged Students (in Tertiary Institutions) relative to their Clothing Choice".
