The mainstream media is not woke. It's not leftist, it's not progressive. Mainstream media is the factory that manufactures the consent needed to maintain the status quo. This is most clearly seen in the way they cover the possibility of a railway strike in America, and how strikes are discussed in every day conversations.

When farmers or truck drivers put up blockades on important roads, they're usually talked about as if they were public enemy number one. "Those filthy farmers should take their tractors off the road! Don't they realize they're hurting innocent people by blockading the roads?" The same goes for truck drivers fighting for a fair wage and better working conditions. What the general public doesn't seem to realize is that before the decision to take public action is taken, all other avenues have been tried and have failed. Employers and governments haven't been able to reach an agreement with unions and other representatives, wage negotiations have failed at every level before civil action is contemplated.
In the media, civil action of this sort is usually condemned. People who participate in civil action are blamed for disrupting society and for hurting the economy. The media, accused of being some sort of bastion of leftism, always takes the side of employers and the government when they cover these protests. When they interview union officials or activists, they'll ask questions like "is it really worth disrupting public life and the economy?"
Right now, the U.S. stands on the brink of a nationwide strike of rail workers that would paralyze the U.S. supply chain and passenger rail service ahead of the busy holiday season.
Unions have said rail employees are seeking improvements to working conditions, since workers do not receive paid sick days. The unions have accused rail companies of penalizing workers for taking time off for medical reasons and holding the nation's economy hostage to ensure a favorable deal.

Biden has said that "a rail shutdown would devastate our economy" and "without freight rail, many U.S. industries would shut down", indicating that strikers would be guilty of causing harm to the nation if they went through with the strike. And the mainstream media copies this message blindly, as they usually do. It's so frustrating that in those rare cases that power is on the other side for a change, this is immediately suppressed by the lackeys of the powerful. I hope they go through with this strike, and for once show how powerful workers really are if only they act in unison. In the meantime watch this short video to see how the disgusting media are portraying the workers who want their employers to allow them to take some time off when they're sick. Instead of asking the workers if "it's worth it", ask the employers who make billions of dollars if it's worth ruining the economy over a few paid sick-days.
