¿Qué acciones crees que son necesarias en tu área local?
Recientemente hicimos un recorrido por las calles de mi comunidad, con la intención de encontrar y numerar los comercios o pequeñas bodegas que han abierto a consecuencia de la Pandemia. Ya sabemos que mientras más cerca tengamos los productos básicos menos necesidad tendremos de desplazarnos a lugares más distantes y de esta forma corremos menos riesgos de contagio.
En este recorrido pude darme cuenta del estado en el que están las calles, aceras, escuelas, centro de salud y paradas de buses. También comprobé que hay más de 7 bodegas nuevas además de un grupo de personas que vende sus productos en mesitas frente de sus casas o a las entradas de las calles.
Ahora responderé brevemente a la pregunta en cuestión: tomar acciones en las comunidades amerita de solicitud de permisos y un gran tiempo de espera para su aprobación; por lo que en la mayoría de los casos la toma de acción debe llegar principalmente de los entes públicos, éstos son los responsables del buen funcionamiento de los servicios y del mantenimiento de calles, acera y brocales. Nosotros como comunidad hemos descuidado nuestro patrimonio, desde las instituciones que nos prestan sus servicios en educación y en salud hasta el de nuestras viviendas.
What actions do you think are needed in your local area?
We recently did a tour of the streets of my community, with the intention of finding and numbering the stores or small bodegas that have opened as a result of the Pandemic. We already know that the closer we have basic products, the less need we will have to travel to more distant places and thus run less risk of contagion.
In this tour I could see the state of the streets, sidewalks, schools, health centers and bus stops. I also saw that there are more than 7 new bodegas and a group of people who sell their products on tables in front of their houses or at the entrances of the streets.
Now I will answer briefly to the question in question: taking action in the communities requires a permit application and a long waiting time for approval; so in most cases the action must come mainly from the public entities, these are responsible for the proper functioning of services and maintenance of streets, sidewalks and curbs. We as a community have neglected our patrimony, from the institutions that provide us with education and health services to our homes.
- Vigilancia y mantenimiento de las escuelas.
Esta acción debe ser permanente, en época de clases y en vacaciones. Tanto los entes responsables como la comunidad debemos velar porque las instalaciones estén seguras y aptas para la estadía de los que hacen vida allí.
- School surveillance and maintenance.
This action should be permanent, during school and vacation periods. Both the responsible entities and the community must ensure that the facilities are safe and suitable for the stay of those who live there.
- Mejorar el servicio de recolección de desechos.
Hace más de 5 años que los camiones no pasan retirando los desechos por el frente de las casas, lo que trae como consecuencia la acumulación de basuras. Deben enviar los camiones diariamente a las comunidades.
- Improve garbage collection service.
It has been more than 5 years since the trucks have been removing waste from the front of the houses, which results in the accumulation of garbage. Trucks should be sent daily to the communities.
- Incluir más unidades de transporte a las rutas comunales.
El servicio de transporte es pésimo porque no hay suficientes unidades para trasladar a los habitantes de la comunidad. Muchos factores influyen para que haya esta escasez. Una acción podría ser ofrecer créditos a las personas para adquirir buses e incorporarlos en las rutas.
- Include more transportation units in the communal routes.

- Exigir a los entes gubernamentales encargados y poner nuestro granito de arena.
Debemos ser ciudadanos responsables para exigir que los servicios públicos sean óptimos, pero a la vez participar desde nuestros hogares para que haya armonía e integración. Lamentablemente al no tener calidad en los servicios nuestra calidad de vida también se afecta, descuidando los alrededores de nuestras viviendas y calles. Aunado a la fuerte situación económica que afecta a todos los que habitamos en este sector.
- Administrar la poca agua que podemos almacenar.
- Clasificar los desperdicios y buscar donde botarlos.
- Colaborar con la limpieza de la maleza de las aceras, calles e instituciones comunales.
- Entregar una contribución semanal, quincenal o mensual para la seguridad y vigilancia del sector.
- To demand from the governmental entities in charge and to do our bit.
We must be responsible citizens to demand that public services are optimal, but at the same time participate from our homes so that there is harmony and integration. Unfortunately, when we do not have quality services, our quality of life is also affected, neglecting the surroundings of our homes and streets. In addition to the strong economic situation that affects all of us who live in this sector.
- Manage the little water we can store.
- Classify waste and find a place to dispose of it.
- To collaborate with the cleaning of the weeds on the sidewalks, streets and community institutions.
- To give a weekly, biweekly or monthly contribution for the security and vigilance of the sector.
Este llamado a la acción llegó a mi casa. Limpiamos el frente y la acera. Pintamos las paredes y retiramos algunos escombros que habían almacenados. Hicimos un llamado a los entes para que se avoquen a enviarnos agua ya que se dañó la bomba del pozo común y ya tenemos una semana sin el servicio. También solicitamos los servicios privados de agua quienes están haciendo el recorrido por las diferentes calles del sector ofreciendo 1000 litros de agua por 7$ (bastante caro para nosotros) y el botellón de agua potable (sólo el agua) a 1,2$.
Son muchas las acciones que podemos tomar de manera colectiva o individual. Atender un sector como en el que vivo es bastante necesario, urgente diría yo. Para que tengan una idea, hace mas de 12 años que no llega el agua a nuestras casas por la tuberías, sólo aquellos que cuentan con bombas eléctricas pueden halar.
This call to action came to my house. We cleaned up the front and sidewalk. We painted the walls and removed some debris that had been stored. We called on the authorities to send us water because the pump of the common well was damaged and we have been without service for a week. We also requested the private water services who are making the tour through the different streets of the sector offering 1000 liters of water for 7$ (quite expensive for us) and the bottle of drinking water (only the water) at 1.2$.
There are many actions that we can take collectively or individually. To take care of a sector like the one I live in is quite necessary, urgent I would say.
