Wow, another super busy day but we had to squeeze in everything we could. I'm pretty happy with how the skirting came out on the shed and my MIL and FIL and very pleased with it. It has been a to-do for years and he had just never got to it. The bending and kneeling isn't good for him, so I happily got it done.
In the morning I got out and finished installing the last 2 lengths and the corner caps. The pieces had to be cut to length then I cut/ripped each one down to the right height.
I got the cuts JUST right so there was only a tiny bit of catch on the bottom with the concrete. I had just a tiny little strip that had to be bent a bit to allow the metal to sit right.
The corner caps came out good, I had to bend the tabs on them and notch a spot for the concrete. I used only 2 nails to hold it on but they shouldn't be going anywhere.
After I finished the skirting I rearranged the pile of leftover siding on the pallet and then covered it all again.
We had to wait until 2 pm to go to the mini golf place. It is an indoor 14 hole putt putt in black lights. Since we were not able to use the mini golf at Fairmont due to the snow we wanted the boys to get a chance to play.
It's not a huge place but it doesn't have to be. Paver bricks are stacked up for the edges of each hole and only a couple of the holes are difficult. But it was fun and the boys enjoyed it.
After grabbing a bite to eat and purchasing liquor to take home we headed to the Maysa Arena for open skate time. The boys and a couple of the nieces skated for a while. and myself spent some time on the ice. R took a while to get a bit stable but J had the muscle memory come back quick and he was scooting around the ice pretty well.
While they all finished skating I went back with my MIL so I could get started on grilling the steaks for dinner. I grilled them slower to allow for everyone to make it back for dinner. My MIL's twin and her husband came up, my SIL and BIL with the 4 nieces, us with the 2 boys, and my MIL and FIL. I'm pretty proud of the steaks, they all came out great. Only thing I put on them was Red Robin seasoning.
At 7pm my BIL, the nieces, and my boys went back to the arena for the Minot hockey team game. It's the playoffs and they won 4-2 over Aberdeen. The boys had a blast again. Once they were back the oldest niece got them all going on ice cream making with ice, salt, and ziplocks. The nieces all worked on stamping with metal working kits up until bed time.
Today we leave for our trip home. We have a room tonight in Butte MT which is a long 10 hour drive but that will make tomorrow a nice and short 5 hour drive home. I am still on PST time as I woke at 7am this morning which is 5am my time and normal for me. We are hoping to leave here by 10am or so to try and be to our hotel around 7pm or earlier. At least there is no snow to have to deal with this weekend. We are heading home into the heat of 80s and 90s.
