I am back to taking the boys to school in the morning and they are doing an impeccable job of waking themselves for school. I again am a bit suspect about how long it will last but they may surprise me, the cold of winter may dissuade them.
After letting the birds out I quickly made spacer blocks for the fan mounts and got them installed. They worked perfectly and brought the lip of the fan just past the 2x4s.
The squash at first looked to have very little but by the time I got through them they had filled the tub about 3/4 full for 16.5 pounds. I have to go out in a bit and rummage through all the squash and see if I have 200 pounds for tomorrow.
I went right back and got 49 cucumbers picked. That makes 258 cucumbers since the 1st of the month, nicely 200 are sold for Tuesday.
Back on the fans I had to get them wired in and I still need to fill the gaps between the wood and the fans. The closer one has the larger gap to fill which mostly is full of foam strip now. The far one has little gap to fill.
I got the metal all installed again inside and I am pretty stoked to have the high/low switches mounted through the metal. I made label to stick to the metal for each.
The tomatoes needed picking and I got another 4 pounds. They really are taking their time this year. I need to really hack at them to stress them some so they will force the ripening. I foresee having them hanging and bagged in the house again this year after frost.
I finally found a couple of 2x3 boards long enough to act as studs where the metal and the laminate will meet. I got the left side installed but then got distracted by the wiring and gas lines. I have to have the runs through the wall done before I can install the laminate wall.
So I ended up finding a nice length of 10/2 in my wire storage and I had a couple 90 sweeps and my conduit. The wire got pulled along with the switch wires for the concentrators. I realized that I can run both gas and oxygen lines together so they are through the wall.
I have the wiring all done in the studio and only need to run from the breaker box, under the house, and then connect at the junction box below the outlet in the basement stairwell. The gas lines run through the wall and I have an extra gas line in case I need to run propane for my big burner on my Redmax. This way it is already run and I don't have to take the wall apart later. I also reran the wire fr the switches, I changed it so the neutral wire is tagged into the junction box and runs to both switches then I have a twin line that runs from each switch to the neutral on each outlet in the basement.
For now I have things temped, the LB is there to give me a short 90 turn as a sweep is long.
This is the outlet box with the stub down that will connect to a 3 way LB. This is the power for the concentrators that is switched in the studio.
After getting dinner ready and getting the boys to eat my glass order arrived. I was able to rummage through it a bit but then we had to take off for scouts. We ended up with the whole pack there.
They got cupcakes as a reward for doing such a good job cleaning up the tree house after our last camp out there. They got a solid sugar rush that they then went outside and worked at running off.
My order ended up missing a few things and it took me a bit to get the email together and sent off before showering and I was about to go out to the tub when I remembered I had to get grain this morning which meant I was out hooking the trailer up in the dark. A portent of the coming months.
I couldn't stay in very long as I had new toys to checkout and the third volume of Contemporary Lampworking to read.
I've been to town already and am just about to take the boys to school. I have a full day ahead between the gardens and the studio build and I really want to try out the new little torch but that will need my table up which requires the walls be installed...
