21 hours for the load of broccoli and banana to be finished. Both of them came out perfect. The banana has a way different texture than dehydrated and the flavor is more like a fresh banana than the condensed flavor of the dehydrated.
First thing in the morning I had to go to town. The primary thing I was after was the breaker box for the studio and dog food but I of course found a few other things that I needed. Once home I got the box mounted and some breakers tossed in it. The wire will be getting installed into the studio today so I can try to get the last wall buttoned up.
came up and helped me to put up 2 sheets of the sheet rock on the ceiling. I had to cut the sheets down a few inches on an end to match the rafters.
I also had to install the little corner pieces that I had left unfinished but they took only a couple minutes each.
We used a 2x3 to help press the sheet up evenly and I ran 4 screws per sheet with washers to spread the force a bit and not punch holes in the stuff. I am going to run more screws into them today but I wanted the insulation to compress first.
We got the 2 sheets up in the bottom corners of the ceiling before we headed back to the house since our friend was stopping by.
While in town I picked up this little LED grow bulb. My avocado tree always languishes inside in the winter with the lack of light so I have this now installed in the living room light fixture so it points at the tree. Hopefully it will help it through the winter months better.
Our friend brought over some food stuffs to run through the freeze dryer. She and spent the afternoon prepping the ground beef, broccoli, apples, and spanish rice. It was about 5:45 pm when I started it and it has yet to reach the final dry as I write this and it has been over 14 hours so far.
It snowed just under 3 inches in the evening while I had a fire in the pit going so today will be fun for the boys to play and sled.
I have to take R to school this morning, work on the studio wiring and finish the wall, get squash ready for delivery tomorrow morning, shovel snow around the farm, and maybe roll a new bale into the sheep's pen.
