I have read it somewhere that when people don't have much to give away, they start to think more about them, emphasizes more over their appearance and feelings. I guess, somehow it's true. What do you think?
You will get to know about many scholarly articles saying, overdoing self-consciousness is not a good practice. The question is, how do we know we are overdoing it, right? It's easy! When you feel too concerned about your own self rather than focusing on what is happening around you and how you can giving more.
I'm not saying, self-consciousness is bad. But we should understand where to draw the line!
It's very necessary to realize we can't explore, expose towards world if we continuously worry about ourselves. To give the world more, we need to stop being self-centered.
The first thing we need to understand that, people don't actually care much about how we look, do, and feel the way we think they are. So don't worry too much about yourself. Take a breath and live your life.
Don't feel ashamed about yourself, don't hide because you think you are not perfect. Stop making yourself feel guilty and accept the way you are.
Also, keep in mind that when you become too conscious about yourself, you give the power button to other's hands. Means, your happiness and feelings depend on how others treat you. So, be confident about yourself and overcome this over consciousness.
If you feel like, you are continuously failing to overcome self-consciousness then I would suggest you take professional help. Because this is something that will create boundaries and will not let you give your 100%.
Realize and try to draw a healthy line!
